The science museum

Friday, April 8th

Today was a fun day. Laura, my friend from Oxford, is in town, and it's great having her around. So today, after teaching my favorite student from 10:30-12:30 at my favorite cafe (where I am currently, with free wireless), we had a lovely lunch. Then we met Nicole and went to the BCN Science museum, which was really quite interesting. It is *enormous*, only 3 euro (I LOVE SPAIN), and has cool exhibits including one on light emissions where they show you the tiny little bit of light we actually see with our eyes, and then other sorts of emissions like radioactivity. Plus they have some pretty bad-ass cavemen... including a video. Hey Nicole, what are your credentials? "I was the star caveman in the Science Museum video."

Laura and I then went home and took a nap, which is always nice, and then we all went out to a GREAT dinner at La Fianna, a restaurant in El Born. Highlights were (of course) the food -- I had pasta with coconut and apple and Laura got the scallops (of course I stole a few) - the ambiance - we got hit on by Argentinian guys and this dude from Miami, of all places - and the friends. It was way fun. Then we went back to 13 for mojitos (can you tell it's our favorite bar in Barcelona?) and proceeded to do what we always do -- wander around the streets of Barcelona until we're cold and go home.
