Tango finally feels good!

Monday, Oct. 24th, 3:15 a.m.

So I realized that if I don't just do this - as in, write updates - I'm never going to do it. So here goes:

Despite the fact that I'm going to bed at 3am (which was not the plan), I accomplished everything I wanted to accomplish today. Namely, I did laundry (hooray, all my dirty clothes from Bs.As. are finally clean), cooked (Mushroom Polenta Pie), did cardio, and went tango dancing. I was lucky, too - one of my tango friends actually called ME and invited me, which meant I had a ride there and back.

Big news: Tango actually felt good tonight. I felt like I was dancing well, and it was fun. I am finally low enough on my center of balance that I'm not bouncy (big no-no for tango dancers) and I don't look like a ballerina, high up on my axis all the time. In fact, one of the best leads at the dance told me I was the best dancer there - not true, of course, but still very encouraging. He specifically mentioned my extension, meaning how long I draw my legs out behind me, which is GREAT news because this is difficult but one of the most beautiful things about the dance. Ooh, and I almost always knew where to step. That's a big advancement.
